Depth of field #2

The trolley, which looks like a ready-made from the entrance, turns out on closer inspection to be a spatial painting with a ‘fixed perspective’.

Location Lugar a Dudas, Cali, CO
Production 2013
Material Pinewood, Balsa wood, acrylic paint
Measurement 250 x 50 x 150 cm (LxWxH)

In the streets of Cali (Colombia) there are many sales trolleys where you can buy cigarettes, batteries or a bar, for example.

It looks like there is a duplicate of a sales trolley in the rear exhibition space of Lugar a Dudas (room for doubts).

During the opening, almost everyone remains at a distance, assuming that this is the well-known sales trolley from the street.

Only after someone lets out an excited cry at seeing what is actually there do people get closer. They see that the back reveals the unfinished wooden construction of a duplicate.
