In the midst of the high water channel (length over 8 km) between Veesen and Wapenveld, a sailing ship turns dry in the wind, balancing on its keel.
Once in a lifetime, the high water channel fills up to influence the water level in the IJssel and thus relieve the dikes. High and dry makes it visually tangible what it might look like if the piece of land were completely under water.
