[s]TATTOO is a participatory art project in which sharing personal stories takes center stage. The installation references the setting of a tattoo studio, but shifts the act of marking the skin toward the act of visualising a conversation. What emerges is not a tattoo, but an artistic translation of an encounter.

Visitors take part in a one-on-one conversation in which there is space for whatever wishes to be shared. By listening closely and responding to what unfolds in the dialogue, a visual form gradually emerges that does not illustrate what is literally being said, but seeks to capture its essence, atmosphere, or underlying current.

Where a tattoo often functions as a permanent memory on the skin, [s]TATTOO preserves the story in a different form, for example digitally or on everyday objects such as a phone or a coffee mug. Each work is directly connected to a specific encounter and only exists through the openness of the person sharing their story.

The project explores listening as an artistic act. Not as passive reception, but as an active way of shaping. In this exchange, a space emerges where trust, attention, and imagination come together, allowing each conversation to evolve into a unique image.
